Being located in the Gantakarna Market in Mahidharpura means there is never a quiet moment for us. Our garage is right in the middle of all that noise and the local bustle. It’s a small space, so we have to be really organized with our tools and where we park the vehicles we are currently working on. Most days, it’s just a lot of engines revving and the sound of metal hitting metal. We handle all sorts of repairs, from quick oil changes to fixing engines that have seen better days. The market is always crowded with people and carts, so getting cars in and out can be a bit of a puzzle sometimes. We’ve been here for a while, and the other traders in the market are like neighbors to us now. We often drink tea together when there's a small break in the work. It’s a tough job, and our hands are rarely clean, but that’s the life of a mechanic in this part of town. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. People usually just leave their vehicles with us and come back later after they’ve finished their shopping in the market. The air is always full of the smell of petrol and old exhaust, but you get used to it after the first week of working here. It’s just a practical, hardworking place where we get things fixed so people can get back on the road.
