Jay Ambe Steel

Our place is at A 107 on the Katargam Main Road. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you are used to this part of town. We go by Jay Ambe Steel. Working with steel is what fills our hours. It’s loud work, with the sound of metal hitting metal being the main thing you hear all day. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just show up, open the doors, and get to it. The road outside is always busy, so there’s a constant stream of bikes and trucks going past. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just us and the inventory. We spend a lot of time loading stuff onto vehicles or cutting things to size for folks who stop by. It’s a bit of a rough environment, but we like it that way. We don't wear suits or sit in meetings. Most of our talking is done over a cup of tea during a quick break. Katargam is a place where people work hard, and we try to fit right into that. The building is simple, and we haven't changed much about the way we do things over the years. We know our neighbors and we know the regulars who come in. It’s just a basic steel shop on a main road. We don't try to be anything else. It is honest, steady work that keeps us grounded and busy throughout the week.
