Gokul Steel

If you walk down Varachha Road 1st Block Bel Layout, you will find Gokul Steel tucked in there. We have been handling metal and rods for quite a bit now. It is a heavy job. The yard is usually full of stacks and pieces of steel that need moving. We don't have a big office or a secretary answering phones. Most of the time we are outside checking the inventory or loading up a truck that pulled in. The traffic on Varachha Road can get pretty bad in the afternoons, which makes deliveries a bit slow sometimes. We try our best to keep things organized but with steel, it gets messy fast. My cousin helps me with the lifting. We started small and just stayed in the same spot over the years. People in the Bel Layout area know us as the place with all the metal piles. It is noisy because of the cutting and the clanging of the beams. We use chalk to mark the lengths. Sometimes the weather makes the steel hot to touch, so we wear thick gloves. It is just a regular local business. No fancy uniforms here. We just wear our old clothes that can get dirty. If someone needs a specific bit of steel, they usually just come by and ask. We don't do much advertising. The sign out front is a bit faded but you can still read Gokul Steel clearly enough.
