Essar Steel Ltd

We are out here at F-5/37 in Nand Niketan, which is part of the Essar Township about 27 kilometers down the Surat Hazira Road. It’s a long stretch of road, and we’re right in the middle of all that industrial activity. Essar Steel Ltd has been operating from this Dist. Surat location for a good while, and we’ve seen the township grow up around us. It’s a practical place to work. We don't have any chrome or glass decorations; it’s mostly just functional office space where we can keep track of the steel production and shipping schedules. The air usually has that heavy, industrial smell to it, which is just what happens when you’re in Hazira. Our daily routine is pretty set: we check the logs, talk to the foremen, and make sure the trucks are getting loaded properly. It’s a lot of logistics and making sure we don't lose track of the small details. The 394 270 area code is home to most of the staff, so we’re all locals here. We don't believe in overcomplicating things. If a job needs doing, we just get it done. It’s hard work, and sometimes the dust gets to you, but we’re proud of the effort we put in every day. We’re just a bunch of regular people trying to keep the steel moving. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, but we show up anyway.
