You can find us at 9, Tulsi Bungalows in Surat. This is a bit of a different setup because it’s a bungalow, but we use it as our office for Essar Steel Ltd. It gives the place a bit of a homey feel, though it’s all business once you step inside. Surat is a city that never really stops, and even in a residential-looking spot like this, we are always on the move. We deal with a lot of steel tallies and logistical planning throughout the day. The rooms are filled with desks and piles of files. We don't have a big corporate sign out front, just the address. Most of the people working here have lived in the 395009 area for a long time. We know the local shops and where to get the best snacks for lunch. The work we do isn't flashy. It’s mostly about making sure the numbers match and the steel is moving to the right projects. Sometimes the office gets a bit messy with all the paperwork, but we know where everything is. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone. We’re just a group of people working out of a bungalow, trying to keep the steel business running as it should. It’s practical, it’s local, and it works for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone, and the sound of the ceiling fan is usually the background noise to our daily work.
