Ankur Steel Fabricators

I started this workshop at A 15 Udhna Sadashiv Peth because I always liked working with my hands. It is not a big fancy factory, just a solid space where we get things done. Most mornings start with the sound of the shutters going up and the smell of metal. We do a lot of welding and cutting here. Sometimes the shop floor is a bit of a mess with scraps and tools, but that is just how it goes when you are busy. My clothes usually have a few burn marks from the sparks, and my hands stay pretty rough. We make things like gates, window grills, and some basic frames for local builders. People just walk in from the street and ask if we can fix a broken hinge or weld a pipe. I try to give them a straight answer on when it will be ready. It is loud, it is dusty, and it gets really hot in the summer under the tin roof, but we keep at it. I have two guys who help me out, and we have been here long enough that the neighbors do not mind the noise too much anymore. We do not have a big office or a secretary. If you come by, you will probably find me holding a torch or looking at a drawing on a scrap of paper. It is a simple life and we just focus on making things that stay put and do not break easily.
