Pradhanpata Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out in Majhipali. That’s in the Kansar Tileibani area of Deogarh. If you’ve ever been to this part of Orissa, you know it’s a place where people really rely on the land. We are a group of farmers who decided it was time to work as one unit instead of everyone struggling on their own. Majhipali is a quiet village, and our work reflects that. We don't have any interest in being a big, flashy corporation with a lot of rules and long meetings. Most of our meetings happen standing up near the fields or at someone's house. We talk about the rain, the pests, and how we are going to get our stuff to the market without losing too much money. It’s a very practical way of doing things. Being in Deogarh means we are a bit far from the big cities, so we have to be resourceful. Everyone in the group puts in their share of effort. We don't pretend to have all the answers or some secret way of doing things better than everyone else. We just use what we know from years of being out in the sun. It’s about sticking together and making sure the families in our group can keep going for another season. That’s really all there is to it at the end of the day. We are just folks from Majhipali doing our best.
