Diamond Beauty Hair Saloon is located in the Safa Kadal area of Srinagar, very close to the bridge. We are in Nawa Bazar, and the pincode is 190002. Being near the bridge means there is always the sound of cars and people passing by. The shop is an old one, and it feels like it has been part of the neighborhood forever. In Srinagar, it can get very cold, so we try to keep the inside of the saloon warm for the customers who come in from the street. We have a couple of old-fashioned chairs that are still very sturdy. The mirrors have a few scratches on the edges, but they work fine for seeing the back of your head. We don't have a lot of modern equipment, just the stuff that has worked for us for years. People come in from Nawa Bazar to get out of the wind and have a quick trim. We know most of the people who live around Safa Kadal. We spend our time sharpening the blades and keeping the towels clean. It’s a quiet atmosphere inside despite the noise from the bridge outside. We don't use any loud music, just the sound of the scissors snip-snipping away. It’s a honest day's work in a part of the city that has seen a lot of history. We open up early and close when the sun goes down, just like the other shops around us.
