Afzal Beauty Point

Afzal Beauty Point is located right in Lal Bazar, over in the Seikhbagh area of Srinagar. It’s a small shop, nothing too special to look at from the outside, but we keep it busy. The 190023 zip code is where we spend most of our days, dealing with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power is shaky, but we just keep going. It’s mostly local ladies coming in for a quick trim or to get their eyebrows shaped before an event. We have a few old chairs that have seen better days, but they are comfortable enough for a short wait. Lal Bazar is a crowded place, so there’s always noise from the street, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people find us because their cousin or neighbor told them we were here in Seikhbagh. We use whatever supplies are available and try to make sure everyone leaves looking a bit neater than when they walked in. It's a job, and we enjoy doing it for the community here. The floor is usually a bit dusty because of the road construction nearby, but we do our best to keep things tidy enough. We aren't trying to be a big city salon. We just provide a place for people in Srinagar to come and get their grooming done without any fuss. It’s a simple living for us.
