About The Village Bistro – Tourism in South West Delhi
The Village Bistro is tucked away at 12, Hauz Khas Village. If you’ve ever been to the village, you know how the streets are narrow and always full of people. We’ve been in this spot for a few years now. It’s a small place, really. We have a tiny kitchen where we do all the cooking. The tables are a bit close together, so it can get a bit tight when we're full. We don't have a big corporate office or a head chef with a tall hat. It’s just a few of us who like to cook and serve food. The walls have some scuffs and the chairs don't all match, but it feels like home to us. We get a lot of people wandering in after looking at the fort or the lake. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles for a bit. We don't have a massive menu with hundreds of items. We just make what we can with the ingredients we get that morning. The stairs leading up to our door are a bit steep, so people have to be careful. It’s a busy, slightly messy, but honest little bistro. We don't have a public relations person. We just focus on the stove and the dishes. It’s a noisy neighborhood, but we like it here.
