Capitol Discotheque

Capitol Discotheque has been sitting here at 50-B in Chanakyapuri for a long time. This part of Delhi is usually pretty quiet and green with all the embassies and wide roads, but inside here it is a different story once the lights go down. We aren't like those brand new clubs that open and close every few months. This place has a certain feel to it that hasn't changed much over the years. The dance floor has seen a lot of nights and a lot of different music trends come and go. It’s dark, the speakers are loud, and we keep the drinks moving at the bar. We don't really do the whole polished, modern lounge thing. It’s more of a classic disco vibe where people come specifically to dance and hang out with their friends until late. The 1021 area is a bit posh, but we try to keep things grounded inside. Some nights the crowd is huge and you can barely move, and other nights it’s a bit more relaxed. We’ve had a lot of regulars who have been coming here since they were much younger. It’s just a place to blow off some steam. We spend a lot of time checking the sound system and making sure the lights are working right. It’s a lot of work running a night spot, but it’s what we do. We just keep the music playing for whoever wants to come in and forget about the day.
