Karnataka Restaurant

Being right near the Green Park Metro station makes things pretty hectic most days. We are tucked into Yusuf Sarai, just across from the Gurudwara. You can hear the chanting sometimes when the traffic dies down, which isn't often. The restaurant has been here for a good bit of time. It’s a simple setup with tables that have seen a lot of use over the years. We get a lot of people from the hospital nearby and students who are always in a rush. The kitchen is small but we keep it busy from morning until late at night. Sometimes the line gets a bit long, and the air conditioning struggles when the Delhi heat really kicks in, but we do what we can. It’s not the kind of place where you’d take someone for a fancy date, but for a regular meal, it works. We don’t spend money on big signs or anything. People mostly find us because they’re walking to the metro or living in the neighborhood. The menu is mostly stuff we’ve been making since we opened. We know the regulars and what they usually want before they even sit down. It’s just a normal part of the street here. There’s always someone coming or going, and we’re just happy to have the doors open and the stove running for whoever stops by today. I guess that's how it's been for years now.
