Colonels Special

Our place, Colonels Special, is tucked away in Chhattarpur at B-13 A. It’s a bit of a weird spot but we’ve made it work for us over the months. We do a lot of cooking with spices that fill up the whole room, sometimes making us sneeze while we work. The kitchen isn't very big, so we have to move around each other carefully so nobody gets burned. We focus on a few specific dishes that we’ve been making the same way for a long time. The furniture in the seating area is just simple wooden stuff we bought locally. We don't have any big decorations on the walls, just a few hooks for bags and coats. In Chhattarpur, the power goes out every now and then, so we keep a few candles and a torch handy just in case. It can get a bit dark in here since the windows are small. We do a lot of packing for people who want to eat at home. The sink in the back sometimes gets clogged and we have to fix it ourselves with a plunger. We aren't chefs from a school or anything; we just learned how to cook by doing it every day. People find us by the smell of the meat or the bread on the grill. It’s a quiet life at B-13 A most of the time, except for the sound of the knives hitting the cutting boards.
