Sumita Ray

This is Sumita Ray. My office is located in the basement at G 1259 Chittaranjan Park. It’s actually part of Ray Firm. Working out of a basement means it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is nice, but we have to keep the lights on all day long. I’ve been here in CR Park for a good while. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, but our street can get a little crowded with parked cars. I started this because I wanted a place of my own to work from. It’s mostly just me and a small desk. There are shelves full of folders and books everywhere you look. Sometimes the ceiling feels a bit low, but it's homey enough for what I need. People come by when they have something specific they need me to look at. I don’t have a big receptionist or a fancy waiting room. Usually, people just knock on the door and come in. I drink a lot of tea while I work through the afternoon hours. It gets a bit lonely sometimes, but then a neighbor stops by to chat for a minute. I try to stay organized, but sometimes papers get shuffled around when I'm busy. Being in a basement, you don't see the sun much, so I try to step out for a walk in the park nearby when I can find the time. It's a practical setup for the kind of work I do every day. I’m usually here until six.
