Padmini Behera

I am Padmini Behera. You’ll find me at 27-1 Sarvodya Enclave, up on the second floor. It’s a nice area, quite green compared to the rest of the city. I’ve been in this space for a few years now. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if you aren't used to them, but the light is good once you get up here. I do my work from a small room that’s mostly filled with stacks of papers and some old folders I can't bring myself to throw away. It’s a quiet environment, which helps me focus. I handle various things here, mostly paperwork and consulting for people who stop by. I don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, I’m the one picking it up. It makes things more personal, I think. People who come to Sarvodya Enclave usually appreciate that it’s not as chaotic as the main market areas. I often make tea for anyone who stays long enough. My desk is a bit of a mess, but I know where everything is. I didn't want a corporate office with glass walls. This feels more like a home, which suits me and the people I help. It’s just me doing what I can, one day at a time. I’ve always preferred working this way, close to where I live. It feels more natural to me than a big building.
