Rono Mohanty

I’ve lived and worked out of B 40 in Nizamuddin East for a long time. This area is quiet compared to the rest of the city, which is why I like it here. My name is Rono, and most people who come by are usually friends of friends or someone who heard about what I do through word of mouth. It isn't a big office with a receptionist or anything like that. It’s just my space where I handle my projects and meet people when necessary. Usually, I’m surrounded by stacks of papers and books. I didn't want to work in a tall glass building in Gurgaon or Noida, so I stayed here instead. The trees outside the window make it easy to focus. Sometimes the monkeys come by the balcony, which can be a distraction if you aren't used to it. I usually start my day early with a cup of tea and stay at my desk until it gets dark. People know they can just call me on the phone if they need something. It’s a simple setup. I don’t go in for all the fancy marketing stuff you see these days. If the work is good, people find you. That’s how it’s always been for me at this address. Nizamuddin has a certain feel to it that suits my pace of life. It’s a mix of old and new, and I’m just a small part of it.
