Mesdames is located in Hauz Khas Village, at E 25A right in the main market. It’s a tiny bit different from the other shops around here because we don't try too hard to be trendy. The village has changed a lot since we first opened, with all the cafes and bars popping up, but we’re still tucked away in our little corner. The shop is filled with clothes and bits of fabric. Sometimes I forget to tidy up the dressing room after a busy afternoon, so you might see a stray pin or two on the floor. We do a lot of the work ourselves, from picking out the materials to talking to the tailors who live nearby. It’s a lot of running back and forth. The lighting in the shop is a bit dim because we like it that way; it feels more like a home than a store. Sometimes we have tea and just chat with whoever walks in, even if they aren't looking to buy anything at all. Hauz Khas has a weird energy, and we just fit into it however we can. We don't really have a big sign out front, just a small one that my friend painted for us. It’s a quiet little spot in a loud neighborhood where things are always changing around us and we just try to keep up.
