3 Petals

Our shop, 3 Petals, is over at F/69 Abul Fazal Enclave, right near the Hari Kothi in Jamia Nagar. It’s a bit tucked away, but once you find us, you’ll see we have quite a lot packed into a small space. We started this because we wanted a local place where people could just grab some flowers without making a big deal out of it. We keep things very plain here. There are some wooden shelves we built ourselves and a few plastic buckets for the water. The flowers come in every morning from the local mandi. Sometimes they are great, and sometimes they aren't, but that’s just how the market goes. We spend a lot of time trimming leaves and making sure the water in the buckets is clean. If you don't change the water, the whole shop starts to smell like rotting stems, and nobody wants that. People from the enclave stop by for all sorts of reasons—funerals, parties, or just to have something nice on their dining table. We don't do any of that fancy marketing stuff. We just stand here, greet the neighbors, and put together whatever they ask for. It’s a lot of standing, and my knees feel it by the end of the day. But it’s a good way to earn a living in Jamia Nagar, and we’ve gotten to know a lot of the families around here since we opened up.
