Gifty Boutique

Gifty Boutique is located at D-992 in New Friends Colony, Nehru Nagar. I started this boutique because I always had an interest in fabrics and how clothes are put together. It is a small shop, but we have a lot going on inside. There are rolls of cloth leaning against the walls and threads of every color on the shelves. Nehru Nagar is a busy area, and being in New Friends Colony means we get a mix of different people stopping by. We spend a lot of time taking measurements and talking to customers about what they want to wear for weddings or parties. It is not a high-end designer studio; it is just a place where we sew and fix clothes. Sometimes the sewing machines are going all day long, and it gets quite loud. We have a couple of tailors who work in the back. I am usually at the front, sketching ideas or checking the stitching on a finished dress. It is a lot of manual work and sometimes my eyes get tired from looking at small details. We don't have a fancy website or anything. People mostly find us by walking past or hearing about us from their neighbors. It is a simple business based on needles, thread, and being at D-992 every day to see what needs to be made next. I enjoy the process of turning a piece of fabric into something wearable.
