Meenu Sharma

This is chamber 340 inside the Delhi High Court. It’s a tight space, but that’s just how it is for lawyers here. Meenu Sharma is the name on the door. If you’ve ever walked through these halls, you know how it feels—lots of people in black coats rushing around and the smell of old paper everywhere. The chamber is filled with books and files that seem to grow into towers on the desks. There’s barely enough room for a few chairs for visitors. We spend most of our mornings in the courtrooms and then come back here to do the actual reading and typing. The lighting isn't the best, but we have a good desk lamp. It gets really quiet in the late afternoon when the court sessions end, and that’s when the real work happens. Sometimes we’re here quite late, just going through documents with a cup of cold tea sitting nearby. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. It’s just a room where legal work gets handled. The walls are covered in shelves because there’s never enough space for all the legal volumes we need to keep handy. It’s a bit of a maze getting to this floor if you aren't familiar with the building. But we like it here. It’s right in the middle of all the legal action in the city, which is exactly where we need to be. We just handle the files as they come and try to keep things moving along.
