Israr Ahmad Sheikh

I am Israr Ahmad Sheikh and I have been operating out of B-16 Nizamuddin West for a good number of years. This neighborhood is always full of life because of the dargah being so close by and all the history tucked into the lanes. My office is a small space where I spend most of my day dealing with whatever comes across my desk. It is not one of those modern glass buildings you see in the newer parts of Delhi. Here, it is old brick and narrow stairs. I usually have a tea around four o'clock from the stall down the street. People stop by to talk or ask for help with things. Sometimes the electricity acts up in the summer heat, but we just open the windows and keep going. I do not have a big staff or anything like that, it is mostly just me handling the day to day stuff. You get used to the sounds of the city here, the prayers, the rickshaws, and the tourists wandering around looking for the tomb. It is a quiet kind of busy if that makes any sense. I like being in Nizamuddin because everything feels familiar. My desk is usually covered in files and my phone rings more than I would like sometimes, but that is just how it goes when you have been in one place for this long. It is just a normal office where work gets done at a steady pace without any fuss or noise.
