Thulunga Farmers Producer Company Limited

Over in Nizharsingha, in the Udalguri area, we’ve got a group of farmers who decided to team up. Thulunga Farmers Producer Company Limited is based at Dipjyoti Basumataray’s house. This part of Darang is good for farming, but it’s always been hard for one person to do everything alone. We aren't some big-shot executives. We’re the same people you see out in the fields every day when the sun is high. We put this company together so we could have a bit more say in how our produce is handled. It’s a grassroots kind of thing. Most of our meetings happen on the porch or under a tree, depending on the heat. We don’t have a marketing team or any shiny ads. Our reputation is just based on being honest with our neighbors and working hard. Sometimes we struggle with the legal side of things because it’s all new to us, but we’re learning as we go. The goal isn't to get rich quick; it’s just to make sure the farmers in Nizharsingha can keep their families fed and their farms running. It’s a simple life, and we like it that way. If you’re ever in this part of the BTAD, you’ll find us busy with the harvest or planning for the next season. It’s just us, keeping it real and making sure our farming community stays strong through the good years and the bad ones.
