Our school is located in Arki, which is a quiet part of Solan. The views around here are quite nice, especially when the clouds hang low over the hills. The school building itself is simple, made of stone and concrete, and it sits right where the local kids can walk to it easily. Every morning, you can hear the sound of the bell echoing across the neighborhood. We don’t have any fancy gadgets or high-tech setups; we just use the old-fashioned blackboards and wooden benches. The playground is mostly dirt and grass, but it serves its purpose for the afternoon games. Teachers here often live in the village or just a short bus ride away, so everyone knows everyone else’s name. We spend a lot of time making sure the registers are marked and the classrooms are swept out. It’s a bit cold in the winter months, so we all wear our heavy sweaters and jackets inside. There’s a certain rhythm to life here in Arki that doesn’t change much from year to year. We focus on the basics and make sure the kids have their books ready for the next lesson. It’s not a complicated place to run, but it keeps us all busy from dawn until the late afternoon when the sun starts to dip behind the mountains. We just do our work and keep the place going.
