Genius Global School

Genius Global School is over at 194, Anand Vihar, right on Mall Road in Saproon. Solan is usually quiet but this part of town gets a lot of people moving around, especially near the Anand Vihar Colony. Our front door is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. Inside, the hallways are always a bit narrow and you can hear the kids shouting even before the bell goes off. We spend a lot of time just keeping things organized. The staff room has a kettle that's almost always running because someone is always having tea. It gets cold in the winters here, so we have to make sure the windows are shut tight against the wind coming off the hills. Most of the desks have scratches from years of use, and there is a pile of old sports equipment in the corner of the yard that we really need to sort through one day. On rainy days, the mud gets tracked in from the main road, and the floors stay damp until late afternoon. We don't have much of a fancy lobby, just some chairs for parents who are waiting to pick up their children. It’s a loud place during the day, but once everyone goes home, the whole building feels strangely empty and silent. We usually leave around five or six once the last light is turned off for the evening.
