Tniamp Iv Ilayangudi Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in a village called Melakudiyiruppu, which is part of the Ilayangudi area in Sivaganga. You can find us at 1/191, which is just a normal house we use for the company business. It’s very quiet out here compared to the bigger towns. Most of the people involved are just local farmers who have lived in this part of Tamil Nadu their whole lives. We decided to form this producer company to see if we could do better by working together instead of everyone just doing their own thing. It’s been a bit of a learning curve for all of us, honestly. There is a lot of paperwork involved that we didn’t really expect at the start. Most days involve someone stopping by to ask about seeds or to talk about the latest prices at the market. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who handle the day-to-day things. The soil around Ilayangudi can be tough, and the water is always a worry, but we make do with what we have. It’s a community effort more than a business in the traditional sense. We are just trying to make sure the families here can keep farming for another generation without it being such a struggle all the time. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power cuts out, but we just keep going.
