Our office for Karambakudi Taluk Farmer Producer Company Limited is in Pappapatti, specifically at 3/521A in Kadampatty. It’s a rural spot, which makes sense since we work with farmers all across the taluk. We aren't some big city firm. Most of us have dirt under our fingernails from working our own land. We set this up to help everyone get a better handle on selling their crops. It’s a simple building where we meet up to discuss prices and seeds. Sometimes the meetings get a bit loud when everyone has a different opinion on the weather or the market. We don't have a secretary to answer every call, so sometimes you have to wait a bit if we're out in the fields. The roads around Kadampatty can be rough after it rains, but we manage to get things moved. We’re just a collective of local people trying to make a living. There aren't any fancy missions here, just the daily reality of farming. We keep our overhead low so more of the money goes back to the members. You won't find any glossy posters on our walls, just calendars and maybe a map of the local plots. It’s an honest way to work. We spend a lot of time just listening to what the other farmers need and trying to find a way to make it happen for them. It’s not always easy but it’s what we do every single day of the year.
