Vishvkarma Vidyapeeth Secondary School

Our school is situated in Khanri, which is a small spot in the Sikar district. It is a secondary school, so we have kids of all ages running around from the morning until the afternoon bell rings. The building itself has seen a lot of students come and go over the years. We have had to patch up the walls and fix the roof a few times, but it is a solid place. Living and working in Sikar means dealing with the heat and the wind, but we have got enough trees in the yard to give a little bit of shade during the breaks. The classrooms are basic with desks and blackboards. We do not use any high-tech gadgets because we find that the old ways of teaching still work fine for what we need. Most of our staff are locals who have been with us for a long time. They know the names of almost every kid and their parents too. It is the kind of place where people look out for each other. We do not have a big marketing budget or anything like that. Word just travels around the village when people are happy with how things are going. Sometimes the school gets a bit crowded during the rainy season when everyone stays inside, but we manage. It is just a normal, everyday school for the community here in Khanri. We take things one day at a time.
