Operations Manager With Hotel Ashiana Regency Shimla

Managing the day-to-day here at Hotel Ashiana Regency involves a lot of walking around. We are based out of Unit 5 in Taksal House. It is up on Strawberry Hill in the Kusumpti area of Shimla. The air is always a bit thinner up here, which took me some time to get used to. Most of my work involves checking the schedules and making sure everything at the hotel is running without too many hiccups. Shimla is a beautiful place, but the logistics can be a nightmare when it snows or when the tourist season kicks in. Chhota Shimla is a bit quieter than the main town, which I actually prefer. I spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at spreadsheets in the office. We deal with all sorts of guest requests, some normal and some pretty strange. The postcode here is 171002, and we are tucked away enough that it feels peaceful. Taksal House is a solid building, and we have a good view of the hills when the clouds aren't too low. It is just regular work, really. We make sure the staff is doing okay and the rooms are ready for whoever is driving up the mountain today. There is always something to fix or someone to talk to. It keeps me busy from morning until late evening most days.
