Hotel Gables

Up here in Mashobra, things move a bit slower than they do down in the bigger towns. We’re located away from the main crowds, which is why most people come to find us. The air is thinner and cooler, and we have plenty of trees all around the property. The building has been here for a long time and it has that old style about it. We don’t have fancy elevators or shiny modern furniture. It’s mostly wood and stone. We spend a lot of time keeping the place warm when the cold weather sets in. Sometimes the mountain roads can be a bit tricky after a storm, but it’s worth it for the quiet. Our staff are local folks who know the area well. They aren't trained like corporate hotel workers, but they know how to make a good cup of tea and where the best walking paths are. The rooms are basic but they have a lot of character and plenty of space. We don't have a big menu, just some simple, home-style food that hits the spot when it's chilly outside. We aren't a luxury resort with a spa and all that. We’re just a place to stay if you want to see the hills and hear nothing but the wind at night. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but we like it that way and so do the people who stay with us. We just focus on keeping the place running.
