Venkateswaraa Foam Products

Our place is out in the G.K. Industrial Estate in Alapakkam. It’s at number 18 in Ganesh Nagar, which is a bit of a trek if you aren't used to the Porur traffic. We work with foam here, so the whole area is usually filled with large blocks of it. It’s light but it takes up a lot of room. Most of our day is spent cutting things to size or loading up the delivery vans. The machines make a bit of a hum all day long. It isn't a quiet office job. We are usually covered in small bits of foam by the time lunch rolls around. The estate gets quite busy with trucks coming and going, especially on the narrow turns near our unit. We started here because there was enough space to stack things high. We don't really have a front desk or anything. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the back near the cutting tables. We just handle the orders as they come in from local furniture makers or packaging people. It’s honest work and it keeps us moving. We know the neighbors in the other industrial units well, and we usually share a coffee when things slow down in the late afternoon. It's just a regular factory setup where we try to keep things organized despite all the bulky stock we handle every day. It's dusty but we like it.
