Carpet Land (India)

We are located out in Rewra Paraspur on Chauri Road. Carpet Land (India) is a bit further out than some other places, but that’s where the work happens. The road outside can get pretty dusty when the trucks go by, and it feels like we are constantly sweeping the entrance. Inside, we have heaps of carpets in all sorts of sizes. Some are rolled up and others are folded in big piles that reach the ceiling. There’s a distinct smell of dyes and wool that you notice as soon as you step inside. We spend our days checking over the patterns and making sure everything looks right before it goes out. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the sound of the looms or the occasional vehicle stopping by. We don't have a fancy storefront with big glass windows. It’s more of a practical space where we can get the work done. Usually, we sit outside on some wooden chairs during our breaks and watch the traffic on Chauri Road. We know most of the people who live and work around here. It’s a small community. We don't use any high-tech systems for our inventory; it’s mostly just notes in a big book and knowing where everything is by memory. It’s a simple way to run things, but it has worked for us for a long time. People just stop by.
