Modern Rugs is based out of Jallapur, and if you are looking to reach us by mail, our P.O. Box is 201. Being in Jallapur means we are right in the heart of where rugs are made. It is not a place with big glass buildings or fancy offices. Instead, it is full of small workshops and people who have been doing this for generations. Our space is more of a practical workshop and storage area than a showroom. We spend our days surrounded by the smell of wool and the sound of looms in the distance. It is hard work, and the days can be long, especially when we have a big deadline. We don't really have a marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on getting the rugs finished and packed up properly. Sometimes we sit outside on old wooden chairs during the break and just watch the world go by. Jallapur has a way of staying the same even as things change elsewhere. We keep our records in big ledgers and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s not a glamorous life, but it is honest work. We are just local people making something with our hands. We don't need to say much more than that. If the rugs are good, the work speaks for itself. It is how things go here.
