If you're looking for us, we’re out at Nanekar Wadi, through Gate No. 309 at C-3. It’s a bit of a drive if you’re coming from the city, and the roads can be rough depending on the season. Veena Industries Pvt. Ltd. is a factory setting, so it's noisy and there’s always the smell of grease and metal in the air. We don't have a carpeted office or any of those modern glass walls. It's a shed with some office rooms attached to the side. Most of our day is spent out on the floor or checking on the machines. We wear sturdy shoes because the floor gets dusty and there’s always something being moved around. It’s a practical place. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone with corporate talk. We just make parts and manage the production line. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. We have a small crew and everyone knows everyone else’s business. Lunch is usually spent sitting on whatever is available, talking about the local news or the weather. It’s hard work, and by the end of the shift, we’re all pretty tired. But it’s what we do. We’ve been here at this gate for years, and we’ve seen the area grow up around us. It’s just a factory, doing what factories do, trying to keep the machines running.
