Prabhat Exports

Prabhat Exports sits right on the Main Road in Anand Nagar. It is a straightforward place, nothing too special to look at from the outside. We have a small sign above the door that’s been there since we opened. The shop gets a lot of dust because of all the cars and bikes passing by on the main road. We spend a good portion of our morning just wiping down the counters and the windows. It’s just part of being in this location. My brother and I run the place mostly. We handle all the shipping and the paperwork ourselves. It gets a bit overwhelming when we have a big order to get out, but we just put our heads down and get it done. The back room is where we keep most of the stock, and it’s always a bit of a maze back there. Sometimes we lose track of time when we are working. We don't have any fancy brochures or a marketing person. Most of our neighbors are also running small shops, so there is a nice community feeling in Anand Nagar. We often share a meal or some snacks in the afternoon. We’ve had the same furniture for ten years and the floor is a bit worn out in the spots where people stand the most. It’s just a normal workplace for normal people who want to earn a living. We just keep moving forward day by day. Every month we check the inventory and clean the back. That is just our routine.
