Royal Arts And Scince College is located in Masilapalayam, which is right by the Mettur Dam Railway Station in Salem. It is a very specific spot. You can often hear the trains coming and going, which becomes a sort of background noise for our daily classes. A lot of our students come from the surrounding villages and towns, taking the train every morning to get here. It makes for a very busy atmosphere around the start of the day. The campus itself is practical and spread out enough for the different departments we have. We don't have fancy marble floors or high-tech glass walls. It is a typical college building made of concrete and brick. In the afternoons, when the sun is high over Salem, the students gather under the trees or in the hallways to escape the heat. We see a lot of young people passing through, working on their degrees and trying to figure out their futures. The staff in the office usually has a stack of forms to deal with, and there is always someone asking about exam dates. It is a functional place where people come to get an education without any unnecessary frills. We have been here for years, watching the trains pass by and the students move on to their next chapters in life as they finish their studies.
