Jayam College Information Centre

You can find us at Jayam College Information Centre on the first floor of Empire Arcade. This is right in the Agraharam area of Salem. It is an old building and we have a small office space there. People come in mostly to ask about college courses and what they need to do for admissions. It is a lot of sitting and talking to parents who are worried about their kids' future. We have stacks of forms and brochures piled up on the desks. Sometimes the fans don't work as well as they should and it gets stuffy, but we manage. Being in Agraharam means there are always people walking past. We hear the noise from the street all day long. We don't really do much advertising; people just find us because they know the arcade. It is a simple setup with a few chairs for visitors and a couple of desks for us to work at. We try to keep track of all the different college dates and requirements which can be a bit confusing. Most days are just spent answering the phone or explaining the same things to different people. It is steady work. We are usually here from morning until late evening. It is not a very big office but it serves the purpose for anyone in Salem looking for some basic details. We have been in this spot for several years and people know the arcade.
