We are located in Salem, and the school has been a part of the local community here for some time. We didn't want to build something huge or impersonal. Instead, we have a place that feels accessible to the families living around us. Salem is a city that keeps growing, but we try to maintain a friendly, local feel at the school. It’s a lot of work day-to-day. We start early in the morning, getting everything ready before the first bus arrives or the parents start dropping off their kids. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone writing fancy brochures for us. We just tell people where we are and what we do. The teachers are locals themselves and they put in a lot of effort with the students. We have regular classrooms with wooden desks and blackboards. It’s a traditional setup because that’s what works for us. During the rainy season, things can get a bit muddy outside, but we manage. We like the fact that we know the names of most of the children and their parents. It makes the school feel like it belongs to the neighborhood. We aren't trying to compete with the big private schools in the city center. We just provide a solid place for kids to come and learn their lessons. It’s a simple, honest way to run a school, and we’re happy with that. The staff usually gathers in the courtyard after the final bell to talk about how the day went and what needs doing tomorrow.
