Mettur is a place everyone knows because of the big dam. We are located right there in Metturdam at Mam Matriculation Higher Secondary School. The area is 636401. It is a decent place to be. We have the higher secondary classes, so the students are a bit more serious about their future. You see them sitting in groups talking about their subjects or preparing for tests. We spend our time managing the daily stuff that comes up. Whether it is fixing a broken desk or sorting out the timetable, there is always something to do. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed but we make sure the basic rules are followed. Mettur gets its fair share of visitors, but we are just a local school for the families living here. We do not have a big board of directors or anything like that. It is just us teachers and the office staff trying to make things work for the children. The building is simple and has been around for a while. Sometimes the heavy rains make the grounds a bit muddy, but we deal with it. We like being part of this community. People know where to find us if they need to talk about their kids' education. It is just a regular school day here most of the time. Nothing too flashy, just honest work in Mettur. We just take things as they come.
