Kevi Womens College Of Education

Our college is located in Saminaikenpatti Village, right across from the Government Engineering College. We are in the Omalur Taluk area of Salem. It is a bit out of the main city, so it is a quiet place for the women to focus on their studies. We focus on education, specifically training people to become teachers in the future. The building is surrounded by some green space which is nice to have during the breaks. We have classrooms that are simple and functional for the lectures. There is a small staff room where the teachers sit and grade the papers between classes. Since we are out in the village, the atmosphere is quite different from the colleges you might find in Salem town. It is much more peaceful here for everyone. The students come from various parts of the district. Some of them take the local bus and then walk the last bit of the way to the gate every day. We have the basic facilities like a small library and a place to sit during the lunch hour. It is a dedicated space for women who want to get their teaching degrees. We don't have a lot of extra things, just what is necessary for the courses. The local people know us as the college across from the engineering school. We have been here for a while now, and the routine stays pretty much the same. It is just a quiet corner of the village.
