If you find yourself in the village of Hatoli near Sadholikadim, you might see our place. Upajbahar Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Amit Kumar’s house. It’s a small operation, mostly just us and the local farmers we work with. Around here, life moves a bit slower, and everything revolves around the seasons. We aren't some big city company with a lot of money. Most of our resources go right back into the farming work. We started this because we wanted a way to have more control over what happens to our crops after they leave the field. It’s a lot of work, and there is always some new problem to solve, whether it’s a pest issue or a broken piece of equipment. We don't have a fancy mission statement written on a plaque. Our goal is just to make sure we can keep farming and that the younger generation sees a future in it. Some days are long and tiring, but that is the nature of this life. We talk to each other across the fences and meet up to discuss the business. It’s a very personal way of doing things. You won't find any slick sales talk here. We just tell it like it is and hope for a good rain when the crops need it. It’s just how we live and work in Hatoli, dealing with the dirt and the sky.
