We operate Gokulgram Farmer Producer Companylimited out of Naya Gaon village. You can find us at Raghubeer Singh’s place, he is the son of Nar Singh. It’s a very local operation. Our post office is in Nakur. We are basically a group of farmers who got together because we thought it would be better than working entirely on our own. Being in Naya Gaon, we are right in the middle of the fields we work on. The office is just a room where we keep our books and meet to discuss the harvest. It’s not fancy at all, and sometimes the floors are a bit dusty from people coming in from the farms. We don't use big words or have complicated business plans. We just look at what we are growing and try to find a workable way to get it sold. Nakur is a small place, so word travels fast around here. If something is happening with the crops, everyone knows about it pretty quickly. We started this company to give ourselves a bit more of a voice when it comes to selling our produce. It is just a practical way to manage things. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who take turns handling the paperwork. Gokulgram Farmer Producer Companylimited is really just about the people in Naya Gaon trying to make a living from the land we have. It is hard work, but we prefer being our own bosses.
