Out in Village Mubarakpur, near Gangoh, you will find us at Sangharsh Bioenergyproducer Companylimited. We operate out of Khasra No. 162, which is Ajeet Singh’s place. It is a quiet spot, mostly surrounded by fields and the usual village sounds. We are focused on bioenergy, which sounds like a big word, but mostly it just means we are trying to do something useful with the waste from the farms around here. Ajeet Singh is around most of the time to make sure things are running okay. It’s not a polished operation. We have some equipment and a lot of space for storage. The weather really dictates how our week goes. If it’s raining, everything slows down. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors about what they can bring in. It’s a lot of trial and error. We aren’t experts with degrees from fancy colleges; we are just locals trying to figure out a better way to use what the land gives us. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to wait for parts to come from the city, which can take days. It is a slow process building something like this in Mubarakpur. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything. It’s just us, some dirt on our boots, and a plan to make the most of the crops. It's tough but it keeps us busy through the seasons.
