Sagar Handicrafts

You can find us over at the corner of Bazdaran Street and Abdul Salam Road. Sagar Handicrafts has been in this spot for a good while, and the building definitely shows its age a bit. We do a lot of different things here, mostly stuff made by hand that takes a bit of patience and time. The workshop is usually a bit of a jumble with half-finished projects sitting on every available surface we have. We don't have a big staff, just a few local folks who have been doing this kind of work since they were quite young. Sometimes we get a big order and everyone has to stay late to get it sorted out and packed. The street outside is always noisy with motorcycles and people shouting, but we’re used to all that by now. We don't really have a process that's written down in a book; we just sort of know what needs doing next by looking at the pile of work. Sometimes a piece doesn't turn out quite right and we have to start over from the beginning, which is frustrating but that’s just part of the job. We keep our tools sharp and our heads down. It’s not the most glamorous work in the world, but it fills the day and pays the bills for us. If you're looking for something polished and perfect, we might not be the right place, but we do honest work.
