N. K. Handikraft

Down in Mehndi Sharai Majeeb Bhatte Wali Gali, things are usually pretty busy and loud. That is where you will find us at N. K. Handikraft. Our space is tucked away in this narrow lane where there is always someone moving something on a cart or children playing nearby. We spend most of our hours working with our hands, dealing with the raw materials that come in through the back door. It gets a bit messy with all the scraps and tools lying around on the benches. We don't really have a front desk or a receptionist because we are usually too busy actually making things. The air smells like wood and old metal most of the time. People find us because they know the lane well or someone told them where to turn after the big bakery. It is a tight squeeze when we have a lot of supplies delivered at once. Sometimes we just sit on the stools and have tea while we figure out the next project. We don’t bother with fancy signs or big advertisements because word of mouth works just fine around here. If you come by, you might have to dodge a few motorbikes to get to our door. It is just a practical place where work gets done every single day without much fuss. We like the rhythm of this alleyway and the way the light hits the workbench in the evening.
