About Indian Village Handicrafts – Art & Craft in Saharanpur
We are located on Sarak Par Street in the town of Behat. Indian Village Handicrafts is a small operation, mostly just a few rooms filled with different items we’ve gathered or made. Sarak Par Street isn't a very big road, so it’s usually pretty quiet around here. We spend a lot of time just sorting through things. Behat is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else, so we get a lot of neighbors stopping by just to see what’s new. We don’t really have a big showroom. It’s more of a warehouse feel where things are tucked into corners and piled on wooden tables. The air smells a bit like wood and old fabric. We handle a lot of traditional stuff, the kind of things you find in villages around here. It’s not a high-tech business at all. We mostly use paper notebooks to keep track of what we have. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when it rains hard in Behat, but we just move the stock out of the way. It’s a simple way of doing things. We like the slow pace of Sarak Par Street. It gives us time to look at the crafts properly. We are just here doing our thing, day by day, without any fuss. The work is steady and it keeps us busy enough. We hope to stay on this street for many more years because it feels like a good fit for what we do.
