Niyazi Handicrafts

We’ve been here at 274 Abdul Salam Road for a good while now. It’s a busy spot in Qutub Sher. Niyazi Handicrafts is mostly just us doing what we know how to do. Sometimes the workshop gets a bit messy with all the scraps and tools lying around, but that’s just how it goes when you’re actually making things. We don't have a big fancy office. It's just a place where we put in the hours. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea, then suddenly a big order comes and everyone is rushing. My uncle started this thing years ago and we just kept it going. We make things by hand, so they aren't always exactly the same, which I think is fine. People stop by the shop and ask what we're working on. The noise of the street outside is always there. It’s a regular life. We try to keep our head down and get the work done. Abdul Salam Road has changed a lot, but our little corner stays mostly the same. We use basic materials and try not to waste much. If you walk past, you'll see us there. It’s not a big corporate thing, just a local business trying to stay busy. We have a few guys who have been with us since the start. They know the rhythm of the place. It’s honest work and it pays the bills at the end of the month.
