About Naaz Handicrafts – Art & Craft in Saharanpur
If you find your way to Lane No. 13 in Sabrika Bagh, you’ll see the Naaz Building. That’s where we are, right near Ali Ki Chungi. Naaz Handicrafts is a small operation, and we’ve been in this same spot for quite a while now. The building is a bit cramped, especially when we have a lot of new materials coming in. We make all sorts of things by hand, so the place is usually full of wood shavings, bits of metal, or whatever else we’re working with that week. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s a working shop, not a museum. We don't use any high-tech equipment, just the basic stuff that’s been passed down or bought second-hand. There’s a lot of noise from the street outside, and Lane No. 13 can get pretty jammed up with carts and bikes. Sometimes it’s hard to find us if you’re not looking for the sign, which is a bit faded anyway. We don't spend much time on marketing or trying to look professional. We’d rather just get on with the work. Usually, we have a few projects going at once, so there’s always something to do. It’s a bit chaotic, but we know where everything is. We just take it one day at a time, making things the way we know how. It's dusty and loud, but it feels right for us.
