Our workshop is located on Mandi Samiti Road, in the Mohalla Ali Ahingran area. It’s an older part of town where families have lived for generations. You can tell by the narrow streets and the way the buildings are tucked in together. We operate out of a modest space that’s mostly filled with raw materials and tools. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a glossy brochure. We just do the work. Most of the day is spent sawing, sanding, or on assembly. We export things, so there is always a lot of bubble wrap and tape laying around. The packing takes up a lot of room. Sometimes the neighbors come by for a chat while we are working outside the front door to get better light. It’s a friendly enough place. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy to get people's attention. If you are looking for us, you just have to ask around the neighborhood. Everyone knows where the different workshops are. We keep the doors open mostly to let the breeze in, especially when it gets hot in the afternoons. It’s just us doing what we’ve always done, focusing on getting the shipments ready and making sure the items are solid. It’s a noisy, busy, and sometimes messy way to make a living, but we’re used to it. We just try to keep our heads down and finish the day's tasks.
