Baliya Maize And Banana Farmer Producer Company Limited

We've been working here in Kotwa for a while now, mostly dealing with the maize and bananas that grow around this part of Raniganj. It's a group of us farmers who decided to get together because it’s easier to handle the crops when you have a bit of help from your neighbors. Arvind Singh runs things from House No 69, which is where we keep our records and meet up when we need to talk about the harvest or what seeds we’re going to use next season. Bairiya is where we send most of our stuff out from. It’s not a big fancy office or anything, just a room where we can sit down and figure out the logistics of getting the fruit and grain to the market. Some days it’s pretty busy, especially when the bananas are ready all at once and we have to move fast before they spoil. We do our best to keep track of everything, but sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy since we’re mostly out in the fields during the day. It’s just how things go when you’re farming. People stop by Arvind’s place if they need to ask something or if they have a crop they want to sell through the group. We aren’t trying to do anything huge, just trying to make sure the families here get a fair deal for the hard work they put into the soil. It’s a simple life, really.
