Our place is located at House Number 223 in Basantpur village, which is part of Chenari in the Rohtas district. Satendra Chaubey is the one who looks after the operations here. At Agrovantage Traditional Crop Producer Company Limited, we mostly focus on the kinds of crops that have been grown in this part of Bihar for generations. We think there is still a lot of value in the old ways of doing things. It’s not a fancy business with a big glass building. It’s just us working out of a village house. We spend our days talking to the farmers around Rohtas and seeing what they have ready. The roads can be a bit rough around here, so getting things moved takes some planning. We aren't corporate people. We are just neighbors who wanted to organize ourselves a bit better. Sometimes we have a lot of work and other times things are quiet, depending on the rain and the sun. We keep our records in simple ledgers and try to stay on top of the rules. It’s a slow process building something like this in a small village, but we are taking it one step at a time. Satendra stays busy with the local logistics and making sure everyone is on the same page. It’s honest, local work and we are just trying to keep the tradition going while making a living.
